Murder. Seven didn't like that idea. Murder was something unnecessary and only cause trouble to those that were affected by it. Right in front of him, sulking upon a park bench, was someone who was affected by murder. Cult sacrifices were just a fancy way of saying that you killed someone, and he wasn't going to let that slide. As he was contemplating whether or not to approach the miner and console him or to avoid him and see what he did next, an odd man in full Roman armour happened upon the grieving widower. Seven preferred not to cross his path, and was about to walk the other direction when a dirty looking young man walked towards him. It seemed he was trying to evade Seven's eyes, but that wasn't going to happen. Seven held his hand out in front of the boy. "Hey, kid, whatcha up to?"

Chell raised her eyebrows, surprised. The man had some nerves to not flinch at the shot. Not mentioning that he made a really good point. She began lowering her rifle, still keeping it in a ready-to-fire position.

"Yes it is. I doubt you're a policeman. What's your real bussiness here, sir?" she queried with a slightly less aggressive voice as earlier.

Gaius stepped back, confused by the man's friendliness. Nobody has even reacted to his presence in this way before. Warily, prepared for an ambush, he crossed to the front of the bench saying, "I'd hate for this to be a trap, I'm actually not in the mood for kicking ass right now."
The seated man chuckled, saying, "No traps here, friend. Just a tired man resting on a bench."
"In that case," said Gaius, "No thank you, I'd rather stand. Would you mind if I asked you about some of the happenings around here?"
Following up without waiting for an answer, Gaius asked, "Do you have any information about the murders that have occured around here? Specifically about the murderers?"

Even though the weather could be simply described as "meh", it was still quite a pleasant stroll. It didn't happen for Karl often, to visit a city not connected to big water, it was...different. Slowly, he was making his way to the park, admiring the buildings on his way. When the park itself was in his vision range, he began to look around, seeking for any signs, that could lead him to the miner's house. And he found one. Covered with yellow tape, Karl could see it from some distance already. Even if it wasn't the building he was looking for, it was worth checking anyway. Karl's curiosity wouldn't let him do otherwise.

There were no people, or policemen around, and the tape itself was cut.

"Don't mind if i do..."

He stepped over the tape, and walked into the house. Seeing the scenery made him let out a long, yet quiet whistle.

"Wheeeeew...Well that's a mess...Yup, that's definitely the right building..." Saying those words, he put both of his pointing fingers up, and for some reason, he smiled even wider.

He began investigating, without holding himself back, from touching various objects, he had gloves on anyway. Then, a family photo, with a broken frame caught his attention. He picked it up, quickly looked at the back of it, and just then, at the front. There was a big man on the left, and quite an attractive woman on the right, with a small girl in between them. They looked happy.

"Family...i wonder how it feels..." He put the picture back on its place, turning it a little bit moments later, to put it on the exact same place and position, as it was previously. He stopped for a longer while in front of an unknown sign, carved into a wall, trying to understand what it meant.

He chuckles, "Oh hoh, i'm far more than a policeman, and im here with the same reason why you're here." He then walks around the circle, still keeping a bit distance from the lady.
"So how do ya' think the' do tis' kinds-a rituals? Do you have any idea? Do you think they use books?" He rubs his chin with two fingers. "There must be some answer lying around here. We just have to find it."

He goes closer to the ritual ring and looks closely to the signs and symbols. "Do ya' understand any of these?--" He was suddenly interrupted once again by the sounds of creaking footsteps by the entrance of the house, he stands up and grabs his suitcase.
"It looks like we got another one comin'"

Sun was shining, birds were chirping their annoying songs, and the skies were desolate of clouds. Perfect timing for a murder.
Detective Frost quickly made his way to the park. He stopped for a minute, and examined the ground.
Footsteps. Looked recent as well. Whether they belonged to friend or foe was not certain.
But it was not his job to look at footprints. The house would be close by this place. He had gone in cold, without directions, however..
More footsteps, hopefully following to the house. He began to follow them, tracking them down.

Chell's eyes were locked onto the man, and although he had proven himself to be not a threat, she just couldn't help herself from not trusting a complete stranger. She kept her hands ready on the rifle.

"Typical rituals usually use books for the enchantments, and I am familiar with the carvings, but I cannot decipher them."

When she heard the creak coming from upstairs, she immediately jumped towards the side of the room, keeping one eye on the staircase and the other one on the man. She saw him reach for the suitcase. That meant one of two things: either the intruder was working with him and it was a trap, or they had a common enemy.
She slowly blended into the darkness, having a bit of cover behind a keg of beer.

Shit... Zachary sighed and he glared at the man through the cover of his hair, but his eyes quickly trailed off and he scanned for a way to just leave. He wasn't capable of screaming along with other vocal exercises, but if he made a loud enough noise by crashing into the trash cans he would attract the people in the park and that should give him time to disappear again into the shadows and escape. He licked his lips and slowly began to walk backwards, his hands spreading around him looking for a trash can, and as soon as his fingers brushed against one, he reached for it, pushing it over before bolting backwards back across the street to the alleyway on the other side.

The man looked nervous. He was probably gonna look for a way to escape, which meant that he had a reason to avoid Seven. Information, perhaps. He grabbed the man's hand. "I said, whatcha up to?" Seven didn't like deceit, so he liked getting the truth out of people. Considering the area he was in and any reason he'd be there, the man probably had a weapon. "Actually, let's just start simple. What's your name?"

Fuck he's fast. Zach tugged feebly trying to break the man's grip. He stamped his feet and looked around for something to make noise with. Seeing that he was out of range of any such obstacles he sighed and reached into his pocket for his notepad and coal stick. He grabbed it and held it up to show the man. If the man let him go, he wondered if he should run again. But the man had caught him once, he would get caught again. So the teenager decided to just play it safe and straight.

'A notepad and a-' Wait, this guy was a mute? Hah, what a misunderstanding. 'Haha, sorry about that. Could you tell me your name?' Seven let go of his hand and waited for him to write something down. "I go by the name 'Seven'. Pleased to meet you."

Seven... what a stupid fucking name... wait isn't he that guy people talked about in pubs? Great... that guy. He flexed his hand, opening and closing it to stretch his fingers. He took his coal stick and scrawled on the paper, "Zachary Gruenswald." He tore out the paper and handed it to Seven as he began writing another. "I want no trouble. Let me go." He tore it out and handed that paper to him too and stood there, his arms crossed as he waited.

"This is a job of a mad man..." Karl stated in his mind as he turned on his heel. He was going round the house for an additional minute or two, when he finally stumbled upon the bloodied stairs, leading to the basement.

"And what do we have here..." He leaned forward, trying to see anything, but it was too dark. "Only one way to find out..." He shrugged, and decided to go down the stairs. Halfway there, he suddenly stopped. In the dim light of candles, he could see a human shape, standing near the center. He wasn't sure if the person was facing him or not, so he just stood there for a moment, smiling dumbly. He meaningly cleared his throat, and then said.

"Looks like i chose a bad time for a visit, huh?"

Vitaliy didn't know this town, so he figured getting to know the "kind" folks residing in it's premises to be the first order of business. Now, he didn't want to really get to "know" them as much as he wanted to figure out how people around the place thought, but he liked to think of it somewhat mockingly in his mind as a friendly desire for conversation. Strolling outside of the train station, he followed several of the particular passengers heading towards the park with his hands in his coat pockets. As he continued to casually walk forward, the young man reached up with his left hand and wrapped the brilliant red scarf a bit more tightly around his lower face as it flapped about in the cool breeze going through the town. It was a bit frigid compared to his usual comfort zone, but still nothing he couldn't get used to.

This town has a strange feel to it... I like it. Heh... I wonder what these chaps are like.

Walking into the park, he noticed some of the individuals now hanging around one of the benches. Stepping forward to reveal himself, he waved with his right hand almost jokingly as he advanced forward towards the two at a continued casual pace. He made sure to keep his distance, however. He still wasn't quite of how these people reacted to seemingly friendly strangers and didn't exactly want to test it right away.

'Uh, I'll just call you Zach.' Another note was passed to Seven. '*sigh* Alright, fine, I won't pry any longer. Guess I won't have any reason to call you Zach, then.' Seven added, 'Hey, kiddo, you probably shouldn't hang around this place too long. Not a lot of good stuff is happening, and, well, to be honest, on your own, you don't have much of a chance. Seeya.'
