if you want someone to listen to the shitty music you like, you have to listen to someone else's shitty music. maybe you'll actually enjoy it.

word minimum because you must actually have thoughts about it instead of listening for ten seconds and then saying "6/10, it was whatever brah." for reference, this post is exactly the minimum number of words.

first reply gets to post for free.

Before I post I'd like to comment on some things. First, it's a good idea to actually post a review of the previous song rather than just post whatever you want. BUT perhaps a minimum of 70 words is too much for something like this. 30 to 50 words is enough in my opinion. So let's post my shitty music.

I really like this music. It's not so coherent so it's better to listen to this while you read or play or do anything else. I'm a sucker for brass horns...

First I didn't try to change the rules, I just made a recommendation. If Index doesn't agree then so be it. I'll just conform. Secondly I didn't break any rules. The thread rules specified that the first poster could post for free without a review since there is no music above to review.

Brass is uncommon, great brass is rare. Gotta love that they managed to get these seven musicians all on stage and synchronized, because they don't miss a beat and it really goes to show how robust brass instruments can be. You could tell by the looks on their faces that they were really into the performance which is always a plus. While the song starts out slowly, the build up is great anticipation for the finale making this all brass video a pretty interesting one indeed.

Arbitrary rating/10

Now, onto my shitty music. So I've been playing a lot of video games of course and found that music ordinarily in my wheelhouse might not be the best since I've been getting better gameplay results from online EDM mixes. Something about it really snaps me into the zone and helps me hone in. Anyways a lot of it is shit, but I've found a few interesting tracks at least. Here's one.

The music from 0:00 to 1:15 has a very relaxing feel to it that for some reason makes me want to just sit back and relax, or play some video games. I like the bells that ring in the music. After the drop, the music starts making me really spazzy, like I need to get up and dance or something. This music has some really nice and smooth transitions, it can easily go from spazzy music to relaxing music and vice versa. This sounds like something from a video game. Overall, this music is really nice and I enjoyed listening to this.

I love Bramble blast. Just the overall feel of the song feels optimistic. The violin seems like something negative just happened, but the rest tune seems to go "it's okay, look at all this awesome stuff that's going to happen!" This semi negative feel is most present for me in the beginning, because its slowness seems like something bad happened, but the noise (is that violin plucking? I don't know.) just feels optimistic, and at 0:14, the guitar seems like it's reassuring the optimistic notion.

Ah yes, Slutty Spider Pokla Pop. I was weirded out when I saw this in my sub box. Nevertheless, I'm glad to have listened to it. It has a nice balance between song styles. The entire song (with the exception of the first part, which adds to the richness of the song later on) gives me an upbeat kind of feeling and the misc. instruments used in each style sound great together. The styles are all different and have definitive sounds to each of them. Somehow, the huge difference in style doesn't matter when done right. Music aside, I love that the image changes to the mood of the song.

Holy crap this was awesome. Not exactly my style to be honest, but still pretty cool overall. I like the weird way the guy raps. He has some nice rhymes and he sounds hilarious, though I'm not sure if it's his intention or not to be funny. The beat/instrumental sounds really sick, and I'd like an instrumental of this. Just 1 minute into this song and I already know I'm going to be busy listening to this song for the rest of the week. The lyrics are quite creative. I feel like I'm one of the few people who actually listen to the lyrics, not just the tune. TLS seems to have a pretty good taste in music. The beats at the end of the song make me want to get up and dance like a boss. This has a really upbeat feel to it, and I like it that way.
Time for more of my music.

"my music". More like music you got out of a PivotBlimp animation. Not that it's bad or anything, I really like this track. It's really eerie and mellow, gives off great vibes. The way the beat kind of skips and distorts is amazing. This is the kinda stuff Adult Swim would put into their bumps in between shows (and their bumps have some pretty amazing music). It also seems slightly dissonant at certain points and pulls it off amazingly. And one thing that always gets me hooked to a song it when it pull of those complete pauses well and this one delivers. 9/10

And now for one of my faves.

Well this was... different, so there's that. Seemed to me like a musical, except crammed into one song and I didn't really know what was going on. I feel like there was a plot but I completely missed it because it was too fast paced and I was too busy trying to figure out what was going on in the video to pay attention to the lyrics. I can see the creative value here, but this is pretty far outside of my tastes - especially since I don't generally listen to music with lyrics at all. It's not for me.

Have some Amon Tobin.

I love it. I don't know why, but I feel like I've heard something like this before in a game I played a long time ago. The title really brings it together; I can really feel these people slogging through a desert or a swamp, just searching for the unknown and at such an ungodly pace like its the only thing they ever live for. That's what I feel when I listen to this. Also, I can't ignore the Indian undertones; it also feels like this would be some weird boss battle for if Nish suddenly went Eldritch.

This is song is just my type! It has a lighthearted tone and the guitar(?) really brings it together and it even sounds a bit jazzy. The rhythm is slow yet the melody is really upbeat and makes me really want to boogie(lol), though it is a bit repetitive for my liking. I absolutely love music with these happy and carefree melodies, really makes my day!

The first few moments of the song give me the shivers, but eventually I get used to it. This is a bit too peaceful for my taste. Sorry, I'm more into loud music, but there are exceptions. This is a good song for relaxing and can probably help me sleep if I wanted it to. The person singing has a good voice, and the snapping in the background is a nice touch to the song. And that little instrumental at the end is just so... amazing. I always like it when people add that little instrumental part at the very end of their song.
Now here's a song I found, recommended to me by a friend.

so basically this is a leonard cohen cover that makes the original song sound pretty genetic and emotionally plastic, and then pretty poorly splices intentionally obnoxious samples into it. it's mixed weirdly and clips and shit. i can't even tell if the person who's singing the cover is the same person who spliced waluigi shit into it. i feel like it isn't.

the main draw is obviously humor, but i didn't crack a smile at any point, so it was pretty much lost on me. what's the joke other than "the noises are stupid and annoying?"

not sure who would choose to listen to nose noises instead of at least a good cover of the song. i'd spin this instead no doubt. the song is best utilized when it's emotional and tense.

making the song on the level of a fart joke kind of wipes out all of its qualities.

i also highly suggest checking out leonard cohen, the artist who wrote the original song without the retarded waluigi shit. if someone makes a list of "best lyricists of all time" and leonard cohen isn't there, they probably have no idea what they're doing. up there with bob dylan in ultra-legendary tier.
