Okay, so maybe I DO just like to challenge everything for the sake of doing it. Hey, hating on him is basically a trend now.
Then again, I hate the sound of his music....
Think about Soulja Boy. He's not Hip Hop, or any sort of singing or rapping...what is he..?
It's probably some of that southern crunk and snap shit.
Now it sounds bad to a lot, but think bout it, this guy is smarter than his music sounds.
1. He makes music that's just pure fun. Look at all the people having fun doing that gay- ass dance, he's obviously appealing to all these kids.
2. He makes music that appeals to the Southern simple snap music. As an MC he's hardly tolerable, as a producer he is not bad, making his songs in the demo of fruity loops, he got what he aimed for, snap.
He's making more money off these kids than you'd think, meanwhile, although in MY OPINION it sounds bad, some kids like it.
If you are one to look for vocals and depth, then he is not for you, but for the type of songs played in clubs, on the streets, at parties and gatherings as well as just the sound of the beat, you can see why they would choose Soulja Boy.
It uses a gimmicky dance mixed with a terribly heavy bassline and some poor grammar (apparently fashionable nowadays.) he appeals to who he wants to.
Think about it.
Is Soulja Boy REALLY bad?

Heh, yeah. I think his music is a bit odd, and a bit annoying sometimes. His song, 'Crank Dat' is played at whole lot at some of my school dances.

He wants to Superman Hoes.
He is bad.
If you want to know what Supermanning REALLY is, as IF you don't know what it is anyways, highlight this text:
When a chick refuses to have sex with you, you wait till she's sleeping. Then you jack off and ejaculate on her back, and stick sheets to her. The sheets will stay because the semen. After all these steps, you have officially "Supermanned" someone.

Well that's what you get for being number 1 on the charts. A bunch of preteens playing your music at gatherings.
Do you honestly think I didn't know that? ****, I laugh so hard when the girls sing that.Quote from ShantoHe wants to Superman Hoes.

One person can't declare if he's bad or good, that's an opinion.
Jan 23, 2008 2:36 AM #79198
Ugh, not this again.
It's horrible. That's the plain truth. Enough said. No more Soulja Boy threads. I'm starting to think you're obsessed with him, C!D.

Yeah. Just pointing out, that since anyone who really listens to his music just for the sound would realize how it sounds.

This is just my way of trying to figure out how anyone can even like how his music sounds. o_O I tried listening to it for a day, and before cutting myself, I realized I started talking in ebonics =.= I haven't talked like that since I used to listen to mainstream Hip Hop every day, for over 4 hours.
I just think I found out why people like him....

No more Soulja Boy threads. PLEASE. It's bad enough I have to here his music in school everyday. I don't need to here more about him from the one place I can escape from him.

I'm not saying you didn't know that. I'm talking to people who don't, not directly you.

And not to mention all the numerous subtopics brought up countless times among the forums. Don't you think instead of giving him the publicity we could just find something new to talk about? Or are the forums so slow now that people can only pass the time by sticking to the same topic day in and day out? It's as bad as the religion "christianity vs. atheism" threads.

Meh, I was the only one trying to make him look less bad, think of it as a challenge for myself.
Jan 23, 2008 3:01 AM #79219
Soulja Boy sucks hard. Period.

You can't. Especially concerning his principles. He didn't get into hip-hop because it's fun or for his potential fans. He got into it for the fame and the fortune. And that, my friend, tarnishes the good name of hip-hop. There's no way you can make him look less bad.

If you read the first post, you can see that I pointed out that what his music is, is not Hip Hop.
