Truthfully, it sucks,
First off, before you try to do effects like that beam you should master the basic movements like walking, running, jumping, punching, and kicking
Second off, try not to use the default stick figure, since you're not experienced enough to make one yourself go onto droidz.org and search for a "base"
Third off. its stiff, for now try to move every joint every frame, it doesn't have to be a big move but it looks unrealistic without doing that
Fourth off, You need to understand "easing" since i can't find a decent turorial at the moment, and am way too tired, i suggest using google, google is your friend
Lastly, its choppy, try not to move from one pose to a completely different one, try to ease into it

BUT if you keep on practicing you will get alot better

That's not too bad.
The major flaws that prevent it from being really good is the fact that it's stiff and some easing is lacking, making the physics look kind of off. Seeing as I'm not a one man tutorial, I'll post a huge one that explains what these things are, with pictures, so that you could get the idea better.
TUTORIAL: http://darkdemon.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=22662
I recommend that you specifically read 2c. "Improving Movements & Effects" to understand easing. Bookmark this tutorial if you ever need a reference to a certain part in pivot animating.

(this is a bad one though, it just resembles yours)

I don't know,

-We both have that shake effect
-We both have similar bases
-We both curl up the arms for kicks and stuff

It just looks similar to me
