Started with an ollie, went on to a pop shove-it, landed a couple kickflips.. and I gotta say, it's rewarding as hell. Personally, I hate skaters the majority of the time because they're DERP. But this isn't about skateboarding. This thread is about physical pain, and how we've learned to cope with it. I am a clumsy person as it is, constantly tripping and falling over myself. From ripping open my palms on the asphalt to rope-swinging my dumbass directly into a tree, pain has become a familiar sensation to my body.
At first, I hated pain. Now, when I experience pain, it feels good in a lot of ways. I feel on top of the world, and I get this awesome head rush and waves of warmth consume my body. For me, pain is freedom. The ability to feel pain, on my opinion, is the ability to free yourself from everything in life except for the pain you feel in those sweet moments.
