I think the 1st one has to be faster, and the 2nd one has to be slower.

1st:
-Look at their legs, at the begining are much larger than at the end.
2nd:
-The running it's strage, at the beggining looks like he's jumping.
Their ok.
I recomend you to post them in beginers thread

It's fluid, but there needs to be more "strength" in the actions itself i think. Use those blackout screens more effectively.

You need to work on your movements. I would suggest do a bunch of animations of just one guy runngin, jumping, kicking, etc for a while until you get them down a bit better. It helped me a lot.
Im going to point out one major thing with the running. When you run, it is actually a series of jumps. you hit the ground with one foot and have the next foot follow past the first one. The second foot then gives the momentum for a mini leap, which entails both feet being off of the ground for a short time. This shoud also be the time where the arms are at their fullest distance from the body. Now, im no expert at running, but im sure the more experienced animators here would say the same thing.
The next thing is easing/anticipation. Easing is the slowing down after a movement, and anticipation is the slow period just before the next one. If this doesn't make sense, there are multiple tuts here on it. Anticipation can also dramatically increase the force (the "strength" as sunnygo put it).
Overall, its decent for a first. Its kinda funny that I made the exact same mistakes on my first animation lol. But keep goin at it!

take out some frames at the end of the punch, and up the anticipation. Also make sure that his whole body goes into the punch, not just his arm. does that make sense?

I'm thinking he doesn't get it.

Remove the asterisks in the SWF tags...
As for the animations, the first one was a bit quick to understand what was going on. The second one, the running was really odd.
Work on anticipation. Google the definition if you don't know what it is.

Liked your effects. but the 1st animation really bothers me a lot. I can't quite tell why.

Applying "strength" It's just as doc said. Effectively using anticipation and other gestures before the action happens. Like before you punch, you pull back your fist first. And then there's the "follow through" or overlapping motion. When you punch you don't immediatly halt all movements, they tend to flow out in some motion.
