.piv

I'm fairly proud of this one. I've applied my own cc to it and gotten it to as good as I think I can do, within this particular concept. There is one flaw that I can see but can't correct. First one to shout it out gets five points :)

I hate ranks, but I wanted to know what people thought in a measurable way, so the poll is more about the numbers. The ranks are for people who can't think in terms of anything else.

Edit: Actually, the poll question should have been "rate this animation out of 10". Same options though.

That shake is not there in the .piv. I think it's to do with the resizing. I had a foot placement dot there so I can say for certain the feet do not move. I'll upload the .piv file for if anyone wants to check this.

So no, that wasn't it. Well spotted though.

Edit: Yeah, it was the resize. I've changed the size of it now so it's not so much of a problem. It makes the particles less distinct, but I think they still work just fine.

Partices need more time in the air, you haven't put much easing into them.. And they disappeared too quickly. The filp wasn't really realistic, it was way too high. It should be the same height as the jump. Besides all that, It was quite nice.

Heck, ah'm a pivoteer, ah shouldn'ta bin throwin in mah lot with the likes o' particles. Not at mah time o' life.

I'll do it but it's gonna take a while since I didn't even use the old trick of making it all one .stk with invisible lines. 'til then, keep critting peoples.

I think it is Border-Intermediate... 4/5

You rule. I never really cared much for realism, I do not do it in my animations but if I had to decide whether yours was realistic or not, I would have to choose the latter, it is good, believe me, just un-realistic. But it is still flowy and sexy.

I disagree with this method of criticizing the flip, if he wanted it to be realistic he would make it realistic, saying that you want it to be something that he deliberately doesn't is unfair and the fact that realism is still a problem irritates me beyond the breaking point.
It's eased very well.
The movements look good.
Not stiff.
Why on earth would you have a problem with that flip? It was perfectly fine, actually pretty good to be exact and zed doesn't use a realistic style, therefor I must insist that although he is capable of making his animations realistic that it shouldn't be considered a requirement. Nigh I digress that it shouldn't be a requirement for ANYONE Who doesn't wish to make their animations look realistic and further more the fact that almost no one wants to have this realism based Nazism it should be banished to the deepest pits of damnation locked into an eternal forgetfulness. If we want everyone's style to look realistic then every one is going to do those irritating parkour style animations that all look the same.
It removes the creativity and stimulation that you get from animating, you won't be able to express yourself properly because although in a virtual world you would be bound by earthly boundaries.
Does that stick figure look like it's on earth? Or does it look like it's in a void of nothingness? Why be restricting to something that has no clear restrictions? One would argue that it's so you have something to relate to while watching the animation, but my retort is that you don't need anything to relate to, it's entertainment and not supposed to be some sort of human to stick simulation.

I regress that it shouldn't be an issue and stating that it is, is completely ridiculous and just demanding what people want from other people.

Jesus christ Jutsu, I was just saying my opinion of how the flip looks to me. I don't care if he fixes it or not, I never said It's super ugly and bad.

On-topic: Whenever I used Pivot everything seemed to be moving through water. It's actually not that slow except for in the beginning and the second attack seems to be pretty weak. Too weak for particles, in my opinion. I say it's pretty damn good, though. The flip was wonderful.
