If this is done in Flash, I could help out with the programming or GFX work, whatever needs more help, if you want to see some of my experience in Flash game creation, check out the link in my signature.

Yeah, I was speaking with CE and Ghyo a while back, and we decided that the plot would center around getting from Boston to an evacuation center in New York. I mean, if computers can handle islands on Crysis the size of states on max graphics, I'm sure a normal computer can handle the 225 miles between Boston and New York, plus all the cities on the way.

Although I like the new Glock skin, which could definitely work as an addon-skin (purchase able) the lighter outlines look weird.

As for the hud, although I like the idea, I was thinking about excluding a hud from this game. There'll be a pointer towards your quest, (Maybe) but other than that, the only way to see ammo and health is in the inventory screen. No-HUD games make me hard.

@Shippage,
We just might end up doing this in Flash. Just confirm with me this, can we import massive panels of sprites into Flash?

oh nice, just remember this:

You can sprite any crazy gun you want, as long as the gun meets visual requirements, a real picture is given, and a link to its caliber and information and whatnot. Also, include a short description of the gun, its pros and cons, and where it belongs in the game.

I'm a writer so I might be able to help with writing the storyline and character development. However I'm really busy at the moment so if possible I would like to join the team at a later date.

On a quick side note, I think that the main character shouldn't have a required name, but instead a default name that can be changed according to preferences (Such as in Mass Effect, the default name for the male character is John but can be changed)

^ I think hes' right. And try not to have a protagonist(like any game) but rather just a survivor whose actions decide if he/she is good or bad. NPC should be like this:
1. A character who can also kill(unlike other shooter games where we have to get almost all the kills).
2. Helpless victims(choosing to help them will randomly give you stuffs/exp or get you into trouble)
3. An antagonist(still human) who will do anything to survive and he is in your team(best if he is randomly selected)
4. Half dead(bitten) human who hides the fact that he is infected.

Thats all I can think of! Oh yeah, destructable environment would totally ROCK!

I think every character should be able to kill, say you are helping a helpless victim, you can choose to give them a weapon from your inventory as you lead them to a safer location.
I agree that there should be normal humans that will act against the player every once in a while, because during a real pandemic you have to worry about other people as much as whatever it is plaguing the area. They might try to kill you for your equipment or leave you as bait for the zombies while they make their escape.
Every good zombie story has a character that you can get close to and then dies. Say there is an NPC in your party that cracks a joke whenever you activate dialogue with them, and eventually gets bitten and has to be put down by his/her friends.
There should also be a few "Key event" moments in each city you pass through. Like during the boss part you might have to choose between a party member to stay behind or you have two paths to take and you have to make the right choice.

(These are just my suggestions, since I am not on the team you can completely disregard everything said here)

Here's an idea for a basic story to drive the game forward. Now, I have no idea how hard it is to code this stuff, so bear with me.

Say that eventually, the protagonist discovers these two scientists that have been working together for years to find a way to cure the zombie disease. The direction they've been going is not to really force the zombie virus out of the human's system, but to make the zombies docile enough and smart enough to function as human beings. And also to change their metabolism so that they ate things besides living meat.
Now both of these scientists are close to finding a final product. However, one of them has started his own secret side project. His own "cure" that he's made does turn zombies into "humans," but in the end their minds are still very zombielike. And it also causes the zombies to become undyingly loyal slaves to this second scientist. So after helping these guys for a bit, the second scientist lets you in on his secret project, and asks if you'd help him kill the first scientist since he wouldn't agree with his cure. If you do, he'd adapt the cure so that these zombies also became absolute slaves to you.
So you could either do this and kill the first scientist, or tell the first scientist about all this, and help him kill the second scientist.
And from on this choice would lead to two different "campaigns." If you followed the first choice and gained the power to make all zombies listen to you, you could just lol and go around the map with your small army of zombies, and make them attack armies of other zombies for fun. If you did the second choice then you could possibly make that cure a failure, which only made zombies a lot smarter and harder to kill. Meaning a funner endgame.

I could develop the story more, but this should be good for now

Some new sprites:

As for Devour's story, although that's pretty awesome, I'm going for a more realistic approach. BZP is about painting a grim picture about how the world is truly fucked, and the 220 mile hike to New York City is the only way to survive. Any ideas for a plot within that context would be more than welcome.

Long story short, that fucking plot is the worst shit ever. I'd rather have sex with a cobra.

Well now that I sort of know what I'm working with, I'll whip something super awesome up hopefully. B-)

Also, could I possibly do the dialogue when this game starts taking shape? I love dialogue :>

definitely. We'll need plenty of news reports, hopefully an easter egg where the player can listen to a complete broadcast/emergency CNN report.

But the game starts during a "panic" of zombies and people, so maybe if you could write dialog between the main character and his parents. When he gets home to his apartment, there'll be several people there for him to talk to, you can make them up and what they are. If you want you can include a possible love interest or something, or a good bud to help.

Mind if I join in as well? I would also like to do some of the writing elements, and I'm not sure how good I am at it but I could practice spriting to help out in that area.
