hahaha what? the solar system is huge, dude, it might engulf mercury and venus but the rest would most likely be pushed away from expanding gravitational forces, and probably wouldn't get large enough to reach earth where it is now.
Wait, what? Gravitational forces are always attractive. You can't be pushed away by gravity. Unless you meant that the mass loss will make the orbits expand because of the weaker gravity.

Also the radius of the sun will apparently engulf the current orbit of the Earth, but possibly not the future one.

Right, sorry, I was rushing when I typed that. Thanks for the correction, that's what I was trying to say.

The last time major life was wiped off the Earth naturally was a few hundred million years ago. Unless we're extremely unlucky, we won't be going anywhere soon. Humans have only been dominating the Earth for 4000 years, so why would we co-incidentally die now?

Of course unless we kill ourselves through nuclear war. That's a different story.

Here is something you guys might like...in 40 years a asteroid will kill the world unless we can swift its course...now 2012 predictions are a bit different...who knows if they are true...but the black hole idea taking us out is complete bullshit...im in astronomy now...if a black hole were moving towards us...we would be able to see that without a problem the gravity of the black hole would distort a part of the sky and if anything we would see the effects of it because the outer planets...a black hole is 20-30 solar masses thats pretty easy to detect on something like pluto for billions of miles away

Not necessarily. Black holes don't have to be hugely massive, they just have to be incredibly dense. And the idea of a black hole on a course towards any other stellar body is somewhat ridiculous; black holes are the center of orbits, rather than flying along them. Furthermore, something that orbits a black hole doesn't necessarily ever get sucked into it. Black holes *can* have orbiting bodies the same way any star could.

I think he means Apophis, which is going to be flying by pretty close to the Earth in 2029.

No...in astronomy you learn that for a black hole to form an imploding star needs to be 20-30 solar masses...if its over 30 then the solar winds can push the outer layers enough for the star not to create a black hole but make a neutron star. Under 20 solar masses it becomes either a neutron star or a white dwarf...thats based on what astronomers know right now...when Betelgeuse goes type II super nova and we see if the star makes a black hole then we should have an even better understanding to how black holes form.

I know how a black hole is formed.

Which is precisely my point. Black holes are not a subject that there is a plethora of information about. There's not even strong proof that black holes as most physicists define them even exist at all. Even if you assume that the things that might be black holes are so, it's not like they're all over the place. There's not many of them, and they're pretty far away. Either way, black holes don't just fly around.

We have all been thinking astronomically but not biologically. No, I'm not talking about zombies ( That would be sweet though) but rather some thing along the lines of the black death, that killed most Europeans. Or how about volcanoes, could super volcano eruptions wipe the planet of humans? Not convinced, around 75,000 years ago most species of us vanished. The theory that could explain this is the Toba catastrophe theory that states a super volcano erupted. Killing most of the population leaving only around 10,000-5,000 homo sapiens (humans). If multiple volcanoes erupted imagine how screwed we would have been?

Actually based on mathematical equations physics believe that black holes exist. We do have some visual proof as well. now i dont think they would be flying around in space but they can be moving around towards other stars and such.

And i type how i want...this isnt like im typing a paper for an English paper

Well this is a pretty educated form of discussion, and people will respect you more and be more likely to actually pay attention long enough to see if what you're saying even makes any sense if you type properly. If you're not going to type the right way when you *do* know how, you might as well not post.

There's no such thing as visible proof. Just evidence.
