Hewitt! And you were telling me that everyone should read Jojo.
I honestly started to like Steel Ball Run less and less as it when on. It had a strong beginning, but as it went on it started to have most of the problems that I had with Vento Aureo and Stone Ocean. I think Diamond is Unbreakable and Stardust Crusaders still remain as my favorite parts so far.

Yeah but when I was reccomending it Jojolion hadn't progressed that far yet, and I hate waiting for things to update especially if its a seinen month long thing.

Well I can understand how Steel Ball Run might not be everyone's cup of tea. I just get a kick out of giving the one-sentence summary of this arc's plot to people who've never heard it before. I love some of the battles like that guy who could numb your entire left side and I gotta admit that balloon guy was hilarious. I also love that flesh cream girl and most of all Valentine is like my number 1 bad guy of all the jojos for his crazy ability.

Diamond is Unbreakable is probably my 1.5 favorite; it switches up with Vento Aureo from time to time. Anyways. You've probably already noticed it but Jojolion and Diamond is Unbreakable happen in the same "timeline" so a few things are already apparent to you from the Stands and people encountered. Maybe you'll like Jojolion as well.

Anyways, have you read Ouroboros? I wouldn't say its the best thing ever; it's trying to be funny and serious at the same time, but the intrigue and the mystery of things is hella appealing, especially since the manga is already complete; the issue is with the translators.

Also, if you or anyone's reading Kamisama no Iutoori Ni, what's your weight on the finale? You think its gonna be a happy one or not? The manga has surprisingly been subverting alot of cliches except for the invincible hero.

Steel Ball Run isn't my least favorite arc by any means. Johnny Joestar is probably one of my favorite Joestars, and Gyro was unexpectedly awesome. The battles were also nice, and I liked the progression that Johnny went through as the series went on, but I still like Vento Aureo's and Diamond is Unbreakable's battles more.

Kira Yoshikage of Part 4 is still probably my favorite villain, but Valentine easily gets a close second. Crimson King and the villain of Stone Ocean's stands were hopelessly confusing and inconsistent. I liked Valentine's a lot because it made a surprising amount of sense despite how confusing it should've been, and it also didn't have any time elements to it.

No, not yet.

Did you read the most recent chapters? Like the whole cops and robbers? There were unexpected deaths sure, but there were a lot of cliches.

I think it's going to be a happy ending just based on how long they're dragging this out. Just not sure who'll die first.

Happy as in everyone got revived back to life? Or Happy as in main survive the whole game and live happily with whatever new girl that he finds? It's refreshing that anyone can die in this anime (except for the invincible main guy of course) but it's also sad that those in the first season aren't taken that seriously anymore, and that that Akashi guy is prob win it all.

And Ouroboros is done? Damn, I thought it'd take them forever to find that gold watch.

I actually hate Toriko. I thought it was alright at first since the art was beautiful, but recently it's completely lost its way and lost what I thought were the aspects of it that made it unique and enjoyable.

Well there goes our chance at becoming bff's. :(

I've personally enjoyed the whole ride. It's been ramping up a ton, sure, but I feel that was only to be expected with how they had everything working in the early stages.

What was the last chapter you read?

Yeah I read until the latest Raptor. I know they did alot of cliches, but the manga seems determined to just kill off anyone close to the protagonists. I mean, I knew Natsu was gonna die but this manga is just so unpredictable. And now another favorite is killed off. What's pissing me off is we know the 4 protagonists are pretty much saved. But it was a wild ride. I really loved how they survived most of the games by using their heads. I mean yeah some of them were luck based and some of them required sacrifices, but the ones that shined were stuff like the sand game.

I think it's still too early for goldwatch to appear at volume 13 of 22. Ouroboros is done in terms of the manga. The translation is still a few ways off, but the good news is the translation team is treating it like their baby so they're not just going to abandon it easily. But translation has stalled to a crawl due to lack of staff issues. I'm thinking of reading their other translation: Sprite.

Anyways I'm half scared Kamisama is gonna be another cop out like gantz. I know its really cheesy but I just want everyone to come back to life. I hate the bad guys here. But. Didn't Akashi have 2 girlfriends killed off? So I don't know how that's gonna play out.

I would honestly root for Lily in this last game even though he wouldn't last that long the way it's turning out. Like I know he is portrayed as the bad guy but, he's is actually the most sympathetic guy out there, while also being the most badass guy as well. A complete contrast of our main character. Too bad the last game is nothing related to it other than luck. But who knows, who would have known that the last game would turn out to be a Liar Game kind of game. The first death is quiet unexpected tbh.

I bet its not luck. I feel like one of the 4 is gonna outsmart kamisama somehow. I'm getting a feeling that he could go for an Everyone Lives situation.

Also did anyone found it weird that in Japan, they spoke with kamisama/mana/that boy directly but in other countries like in Lily's, it was a genie? So. Other countries had reps but not the gods themselves...how does that work? I actually thought there was 1 god per nation or something

The genie might just be a representative, just like those flying statues that took Akashi from home in the first place. And those reps probably gather everyone around to their perspective gods and play those similar death games until the cops and robbers one. Kamisama is probably just a god in Japan, while it's possible that other humans are chosen to also be gods in other countries as well.

Also what is the chance that kamisama dying in this game? I mean he is human, but is also a god, even if he picks a death card, is he actually going to die? Is Mana really going to let him die like that? There might emerges a new god in the end but they can't definitely beat him with just mere power.

I dunno. I don't think the 4 protagonists are pretty much saved at all. I think they'll last longer, but I honestly think that only one or two of them will live till the end. I'm interested to see how this game pans out since I kinda miss this vibe I get from the Kamisama games. I didn't get it that much from the Cops and Robbers one.

Anyways I'm half scared Kamisama is gonna be another cop out like gantz. I know its really cheesy but I just want everyone to come back to life. I hate the bad guys here. But. Didn't Akashi have 2 girlfriends killed off? So I don't know how that's gonna play out.

Yeah, I kinda get what you mean, I want everyone to come back to life again. I guess that goes to show how well the author did making characters that weren't 100% generic and made their designs likable and unique enough. Also Akashi had 3 girlfriends/love interests killed.

I just finished 20cb last week. Reading Monster now. Might pick up Sprite afterwards.

Wasn't really planning to do Monster so quickly, but I made a deal with a friend to read it if he read Biscuit Hammer for me

Cuz Milton is my nigga.

Real talk though, I probably like season three the most because it was probably the most serious out of the three. With that being said, I didn't dislike season one or two at all, but I really liked the inclusion of other mythos into the series. I also like some of the villains. It's comedy style appeals to my sense of humor, and I really don't mind the fact that it's a harem or ecchi. If anything, it's exactly what I would expect from anime and I've had fun watching it.

Akeno is my bae.

I really wanna talk about 20cb but I recall there was already a huge discussion on it before and I don't know how much I can actually contribute. I feel like I read it a little too late. I didn't read it for the longest time because I saw how long it was.

The very first thing I did after finishing the manga was listen to Kenji's song. It was so powerful; it sounds so normal but imagining the context from the events in the manga just gives me the feels. The empty streets as a sign of the changing times. Kenji's dreams constantly being dashed. How his niece would always watch him play and how she knew she can never hear him play anymore and would always carry that walkman around. How a modification of his song would resurface decades later. All that goes through my head as I listen to Bob Lennon. My feels.

Really? I can't remember the last time anyone here had a conversation about 20cb if it ever even happened at all.
