He's an implicit atheist.

I'd say he's agnostic as well, I dunno why you think he isn't.

I didn't say he's not agnostic, I said that that's not what agnostic means. These people say they're agnostic because they believe it to be a middle-ground between atheism and theism, and as we've discussed, that's not what it is. He might actually be an agnostic, but that's irrelevant to the classification of his belief in the probability of a god existing.

This friend of mine also says that "there isn't probability with god, it's just belief", whatever that means.
But because he says that, and he also thinks it's pointless discussing (as we cannot know), I'd have to agree that he is indeed an agnostic too.

Wow you guys look into things too much.

The guy doesn't know if god exists or not, he remains partial.

He is agnostic. He is not a mix, he is not this, not that, just agnostic.

There's not a person alive that's just agnostic. Agnosticism only relates to the objective truth of your beliefs, it says nothing about what your beliefs are.

"Implicit atheism is defined as the absence of theism or the absence of belief in gods without the conscious rejection of it."

That's exactly what Automaton is describing. You're not looking into things enough.

If he doesn't definitely believe that a god is probably real, then he's an atheist. There is no middle. Atheism is the lack of belief in a god, not the belief in a lack of a god. Although that second group of people would be included in the category necessarily, they aren't the only people in the group.

I haven't read the other posts because I'm to tired, but i would just like to say Albert Einstein, Leanardo Da Vinci, and Isaac Newton all believed in intelligent design AND Jesus was recorded in 3 different civilizations(Greeks,Jews, and Romans). Plus, if the theory of evolution were correct there would be other creatures to evolve into clothes and migration or we would just grow hair.

what is your point? some smart people and a painter happened to believe in the same nonsense their culture forced upon them? MUST BE THE DIVINE TRUTH!

lol, no. if there were other things that evolved into humanoids, they would have been killed off by the superior humans. its only recently that mass murdering people has been seen as a horrible thing.
also, things don't evolve into clothing

Newton also called worshipping Christ as "the greatest sin" and Einstein's beliefs weren't anything like the people who reject evolution.

I'm also not sure what the fuck you're talking about regarding evolution. Don't talk about topics you know nothing about.

Isaac Newton also believed in alchemy. Just because he was an intelligent person who did a lot for physics and math doesn't mean he wasn't a total whack job.

That's not really fair, it's not like anyone had any real reason to believe it was impossible.

That's true, but the point I was trying to get across is that smart doesn't equal automatically right, and I suppose it still works in that case.

i dont believe in the whole big bang theory thing. if your curious about the existence of god then the good news is theres a whole book on it. also give praying a shot! what could it hurt, right?
to me it makes much more sense that god created all this. especially since if we pay attention we can feel gods presence, as well as a demons presence (those are the ones that make you wanna do somethin bad). if more athiests studied the bible i believe they would begin to agree with it. alot makes since. i would say another thing is that an athiest is the easy way out. though gods way is more satisfiying
by the way i had a question for an athiest! ive always wondered where they thought the bible came from? did they think it plopped down with the big bang or what?
