Actually, one marijuana joint has the chemical effect and dangers of roughly 4-7 cigs.
And I heard that marijuana makes you go into bliss, but enough will give you a terrible feeling fire in your lungs and head, with an even worse hangover than alcohol, and it easily stunts your brain growth worse than alcohol.
But don't take my opinion- ask a democrat.
but seriously, ask a doc before you post your opinions on this thread.

Stopped at 4-7 cigs... Because that's dead wrong.

You actually reported that post? C'mon, man, he might be wrong but he's actually trying to explain himself, that's something I can't say for a lot of people here lately. It's not a hard argument to disprove, don't bring a mod into it.

There's even some data that supports what he's saying. This is straight from the academic journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention:

"In addition, a single marijuana cigarette deposits four times as much tar in the respiratory tract as that deposited from a single filtered tobacco cigarette of approximately the same weight. The higher content of carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in marijuana smoke and the greater deposition of marijuana tar in the lung act together to amplify exposure of the marijuana smoker to carcinogens in the particulate phase."

Not that tar is the only thing to consider, but in that specific aspect a joint is about as harmful as 4 cigarettes. And it does impair brain development in younger people, though saying it's worse than alcohol is meaningless since the effects are different. I have no idea where he thinks it causes hangovers or "fire lungs", though.

The problem here is that most of the people opposed to the legalization of marijuana have never tried it themselves. They've been force-fed anti drug "facts" until the thought of actually trying any drug is driven from their minds. This leads to pointless arguments between people who HAVE smoked pot and think it's awesome, and those who haven't and never will, because of "what they've been told". I'm assuming a lot of things here, but from what I've seen this is how the situation is playing out. Personally, I think the pros of legalization outweigh the cons, what with the major financial impact it will have on the cartel, as well as clearing up shit-tons of space in our prisons that were previously filled by people charged with possession. Either way, it will happen eventually.

i agree. there is no comparison between "what i heard" and "what i experienced".

having said that, that's no reason to experience drinking bleach, so that's kind of a hard viewpoint to justify

The fact that OCTA didn't pass in Oregon really busted my balls. Considering how much weed comes out of and is smoked in this place.
I perceive no reason why weed shouldn't be legalized. In fact I think most drugs should be legal, because nothings really stopping people from getting their hands on some LCD or what have you anyways.
I just request that people do the drugs for their own reason and do so responsibly, not because of peer pressure, because that's weak sauce. In some countries if you want to get a hotel room, do 7 tabs of acid and trip the fuck out, that's your business just don't expect to be getting your deposit back. I feel the same way about it.
Listen, they don't have a law about punching the air because it has the potential to be harmful. My right to punch something stops when I am harming another person. I think that if our society expected people to be responsible with their drugs they wouldn't even really be viewed as a bad thing anymore.
And where does the government get off telling me what I can and cannot put in my body? Or that I can't alter my own mind chemically? It's MY body and MY mind.
That's dumber than the law against suicide. Though that's also another bag of monkeys I could probably say a lot about.

anything you smoke is harmful. if you vape, or eat it, it is harmless.

I wouldn't say "Harmless" but pretty fucking close yeah.
Well I guess eating it is harmless, unless you're allergic to some pretty fucking stellar levels of high.

This is ridiculous and I think I should point out that it's ridiculous. Even though everyone else already did.

You do not get to make a claim like this without backing up your statement with peer reviewed research data. No one on the internet or in real life is just going to take your word for it. Go ahead, go and find said data. we will be waiting for a long fucking time, because in order to get said data, you yourself are going to have to go become a scientist, put together a research project, and do it yourself. Then you can come back and tell us you were wrong. No study has ever proven anything like this, at all. If you come back with a negative research study, prepare your anus, because I am going to track down who commissioned the study, and 99% of the time, there will be a conflict of interest.

Now that we have gotten that out of the way, lets talk about the social issue: Does the government give a fuck about people, and should they? The answer is no. the government is not here to be your fucking parents, and tell you how to live. Need proof? Ok then, beyond the issue that alcohol and tobacco is legal, let this sink in: It is not against the law to huff paint or glue fumes. Did you get that? A chemical reaction that puts holes in your brain is not against the fucking law. So does the government care about people? fuck no. And we do not need them to. Their job is to keep order, not regulate individual choices.

Lastly, the funniest thing you posted: ask a doc. as if 99% of the doctors in this country would not simply parrot anti-drug bullshit at you to shut you up and get you the fuck out of their offices. They prescribe shit to people that kills them eventually every fucking day. Do not believe me? go google "drugs removed from the market", and prepare your fucking head to explode.

It's a victimless crime with little/no side effects....I do find it funny though how over the past 20 years the focus has been on how bad legal drugs are, but now it's shifting to how good illegal drugs can be...

So you are saying that their job is to keep order, and they don't need to care about the populace to do that. What, then, decides which laws against or for certain things are appropriate?
