Although the Slenderman games have become quite a bore [I've become used to the jump scares] and the fact that many mirror games have sprung up [Sanatorium, 7th Street, etc.], one does stand out a bit.

Have you guys heard of The Haunt: The Real SlenderMan Game? The graphics are awesome for a free game. The mechanics is the same though, collect pages and all that, but Slenderman has gotten a bit scarier if not more nicely rendered. Slenderman here moves...not just teleports.

Anyway, other than the usual slenderman game, Amnesia remains a scary game for me. Those long mouthed creepy humanoids can give you nightmares beyond belief sometimes.

Ao Oni is pretty creepy. You should try it, if you want to play it.

Pretty creepy is not a great way of describing something isn't it? mind elaborating a little bit? (elaborating is the right word to use in this sentence right?)

Because I am sort of a "slenderman" fan, I cannot imagine they made a game where Slenderman actually walkes... because he can move only when he isn't being watched. For example: he cannot move if you watch at him, but when you blink, he could move over a short distance, like taking a small step or something, in the split-second you had your eyes closed, this makes it look like teleporting.

About Amnesia, (little spoiler maybe, nothing that spoils storyline) yeah, it's pretty scary. I remember myself hiding behind a couple of wooden barrels, the room was completely dark and I just ran away from the horrible malformed beast/guy that had been chasing me. I closed the wooden door behind me, ran towards barrels and crouched in between them and a dark corner. Just when I was about to stand up and lit a candle already (to gain sanity). He started breaking down the door and I ran towards the corner again, but it was to late and trapped in the corner between the barrels and him. He started smashing the barrels and I picked on up and threw it at him. For a split-second he was stunned and I made my way towards the gap where once was the wooden door. I wasn't fast enough and he slashed me once, I was badly injured but managed to run to some sort of whine cellar, where I finally successfully hid from him. I needed to sit next to a candle for like 10 minutes before my sanity was normal again :D

Awesome game.

Im disappointed they didn't make the deadspace series more psychologically scary. I loved the parts in dead space 2 where out of nowhere your character would experience insanity. I loved that. I also liked some of the jump scares that came with it, but the clever ones. Like when the Lady wants to hug the zombie baby thing and it explodes in blood all over the window. Aside from that and a few other parts, Hewitt was right in the sense that it felt more of an action shooter than a horror game.

And the slender man topic....I hate that game. Honestly its not even scary in anyway at all. Its just annoying to me. Whats funny is seeing penguinz0 commentate it on youtube. Funny as hell.

I played Dead Space 2, and yeah I also liked the part where the woman hugged her zombie-baby, kinda sad though. I'm playing the game on the hardest difficulty now, it's not playable anymore, one hit and you mostly already loose a body part and die. Also you can only save three times in the entire game...

You're right about Slenderman, it's funny to play with friends or something, but playing it on your own is only scary the first time; you don't know what to expect. i've seen some footage of the "improved" version of the Slender game, it looked pretty good with better graphics. No way I'm going to play it though, it's kinda lame.

I just played Downfall and The Cat Lady, and I recommend all of you to play them too. They were both awesome, although many of you probably won't play Downfall because the game has "old" graphics. The Cat Lady is way better than downfall, you sort of get emotionally attached and it really drags you into the story. The horror-scenes in the game are mostly just gore, extreme gore. It was an unique experience to me and I hope if you read this that you'll play it too.

If you're into that kinda horror without the care for oldschool graphics I would reccomend the Chzo Mythos (a quadrilogy of games that are also free), and The Marionette, a very old but free adventure game made in AGS

isn't that a positive thing? These fucked up things exactly the things I'm looking for to give me that "Thrill". I secretly hope my character would encounter some big monster and get torn to pieces :P

I've been trying to find a scary game to play, but I mostly just play horror maps on garry's mod. Usually they just have jumpscares and stuff like that.
They are really fun to play, though.

The only game that's ever gotten me actually scared is that damn slender game. I can't even play it.

Other than that, the first dead space does a good job of unsettling you with its monotony and endless identical hallways. It kinda gives up on the jump-scares halfway through which is a good thing too. My only gripe is that I think they should've kept the whole hunter story arc going a lot longer, having that thing hunting you for practically the entire game would've turned a slightly unnerving game into a genuine horror.

Well, I suppose everybody has his own level of `horror`, I mean, some find Slender scary but some might think it´s not scary at all. As I said, I think it´s only scary the first time you play it. The level is dark and you only have got a flashlight.
The most scary games to me are the ones in which you are completely defenseless, like Amnesia: The dark descent, for example.

I never played Dead Space 1 myself, I only played Dead Space 2. I really liked the part

wife used to work on. The ship has been "recovered" and if you look closely you can still see dried up blood underneath the cover ups. I like details like this, they really absorp me into the story.

I only played the original Slender. I don't find it scary that much, but I used to be terrified of that game.

Well Horror ? There's No game sacry enough to scare me ! lol

-Silent hill origins (ps2) finish it
- Obscure (psp) Finish it either
so other games like fatal shadow or resident evil aren't scary !
