Has anybody here heard of the drug Addyi? I just watched a video on it and I must say, I'm deeply disappointed.

Obviously it's not an exact replica of my real life, but it's realistic enough to make it unappealing. Oh wow a board game where I can get married, adopt kids, buy some cars, and handle money and insurance. That doesn't sound fun at all for what's supposed to be a game.

I actually totally get this and agree with this. Even at 9 years old I was like "Why the HELL am I playing this??" Suuuuuper dull.

Well isn't it the stereotype that little girls play with baby dolls, cooking sets, and barbies to be more adult like?

Anywho. I achieved sleep paralysis in less then 6 minutes while napping at uni. New record.

You achieved sleep paralysis? Isn't that usually a terrifying experience? Why would you want to achieve that?

Sleep paralysis isn't as scary if you embrace it. The first few seconds are terrifying but once you tell yourself this is what is happening, your body responds accordingly. I usually fall back asleep when that happens.

It was just funny because it was in public and occurring in broad daylight. I tried to stretch my leg and hope that it would snap me out of it only to have it twitch like crazy. And for some reason I couldn't close my mouth. Probably looked retarded as fuck. Quite a sight.

Sleep paralysis shouldn't be scary, it naturally occurs whenever we sleep. Regardless of whether we're aware it's happening or not.

If we're not aware of it, then obviously it won't be scary.

But the actual phenomenon itself is quite terrifying at the beginning, because your brain is groggy and you just have a feeling of complete paralysis and (in some cases) feeling unable to breathe.

Okay then I guess some people are afraid of it. I just can't see why as I've never known it to be scary, only enjoyable.

Because people frequently experience it following nightmares, giving them an increased feeling of worrying and helplessness. Several cultures throughout history have considered it extremely frightening, and it is frequently accompanied by hallucinations and an inability to think clearly, hence leading to panic. The fact that your body isn't responding to save you from this panic leads to even greater fright.

Oh I get what you're saying now, yeah I've had that happen but not while I was lucid.

I tend to only think of sleep paralysis in terms of lucid dreaming, but then again lately my sleep has blurred the lines between awake and asleep. Sometimes I can take over mid dream on a whim now and slip out of consciousness whenever I'm tired of playing around, not to mention how fucking crazy my dreams have been.
