The more you think about Lucid dreaming, the more the chances of it happening. To me, its now at a point where even when I'm awake, I have a basic checklist system that I do (just for shits and giggles) to check whether I'm in a dream or not. Sometimes, lo and behold, I realize I AM in a dream, thanks to my checklist system. Then I can do whatever the fuck I want.

Shit that's awesome. So you can sometimes just snap into even the most realistic dreams because of your system?

My method is a lot more visceral than that. It's a bit less of just sleep paralysis than a state of mind to induce the paralysis and remain conscious; yet relaxed enough to slip into a dream. It could be considered more meditation on my part than a system.

I used to try doing that when I was younger, but it got to a point where I didn't know if I was actually lucid dreaming or just imagining that I was. Also, my system works better for someone as lazy as me who doesn't want to concentrate and focus on inducing an effect.

I started practicing as a way to get good rest to my body while insomnia is keeping my mind conscious.

I just never really stopped practicing I guess.

Yeah one of the other major reasons I stopped is because I now take medication to sleep. So I'm quite high and groggy when I fall asleep anyway.

Hewitt, what ever happened to your "Hewitt Ranks things" thread? You decided not to continue it?

Since marijuana is legal here in the rado of colo it's the best thing I've ever found for my sleep problems.

And if I'm having a night that even weed doesn't work, then I just have to acquiesce that it is what it is and deal with it.

I posted this a few pages ago and got no response:
Any thoughts on the current state of the stock market and economy in general? Could this combined with that's going on with the world lead to a pivotal point in history within the coming decades? Or is everything just "fine and dandy"? Personally I'm worried. Tensions are rising all over the Middle East, and it's a lot more than ever. There's a lot of signs that the world's economy in general is in for a major decline; in fact it hasn't been all that great for the past decade really. Also population decline is becoming a very real issue in developed nations in general, which could significantly affect the economy as well.
Thoughts?

You never answered me when I asked you what happened to your job interview.

oh my bad. my would-be supervisor and his boss were a pain in the ass to get a hold of and eventually I just told them I'll contact them in the spring if they're still hiring, they don't work december-march and I wouldn't have enough time to get started before then. I can't believe how long they dragged out this 3-part interview process of theirs, especially when the guy basically told me I have the job after the first day.

on a different yet still positive note I just got a new car this week, a 2010 focus. after going from a 2000 taurus with a cassette player to a car with voice-activated bluetooth I feel like I'm living in the god damned future

I miss the cars that came with those wheely things that allowed you to roll down the window.

They don't make those cars any more do they?

Also Exilement, sucks about the job. On Monday, I'll be free of my job finally. I'll be able to do a lot of stuff, including some stuff I've discussed with several people here. Good times are ahead, hopefully.

The car sounds awesome though. Is the DVD player voice activated too?

Because what we're seeing now is no more major than any of the supposed crisises that people throughout the ages have gone through. Each generation thinks that their generation was the harbinger of the apocalypse.
