Can you honestly tell me which of your 2k6 posts have actually been contentful this whole time? Let me repeat that: you have made 2000 posts. That's 2000 x 10-15 seconds of worthlessness? I'd like to ask everyone in the room what exactly have they learned from Triss. What is he like? What kind of person is he? Cos I am fucking drawing a blank here. You've literally just decided to waste away posting about NOTHING.
And you're not the only one.
Ok, first of all, I have to say that I'm sorry if I offended you.
The quote "Says the guy who always party poop." was just a sarcastic comment, and it was meant to be a joke.
Please don't take it by heart. I know your reason to break any party is justifiable.
Anyway, from what you said, I know my posts doesn't exactly show the things that I'm thinking, and so I wanted to clarify it.
To be exact, what I wanted to do is to find balance, whether it's reasonable to judge some mistakes of newcomers, and banned them in spot. Is it justified? Which is why, I wrote this:
I say yes to this petition. But only a 1-day ban to make them learn something.
So, basically, I agreed to Scarecrow's point. I think it was fair, but we need to explain to the users what's their mistakes were.
That's why I suggest only 1-day ban, so we can PM him what things that he has done wrong.
If he would understand, I believe there's a chance that he can learn.
And then Ekzolol gives a suggestion, which ran as follow:
I believe it`s allowed. Hewitt`s right: it`s the chat thread, after all. We`re just chatting. As I think, the only rules that might be valuble here is not to be rude and not to interrupt other members too much. But different people have different opinions, so there is a part of community that will be annoyed by spammy messages here.
That`s why I suggested creating another thread with more strict rules. But I still don`t know if that is a good idea.
I know this would rather create another trouble. Many newcomers will spawn there, and the mods surely have to clean their mess up.
This problem would led the mods to have extra work at their hand, which I strictly hate, because I know people like you have enough problem in your hand.
And so, I explain it with this statement:
And what it would do? I think it would do much more damage to create a thread for noobs, because pretty sure a lot of them would be banned for inconsistent posting.
The solution is actually quite simple. Double-think before you post. That's all there is.
Unless, there's someone like harvie who actually wanted to troll...
What I'm trying to tell her that creating another chat thread would do much more damage, and telling other people, that the solution for newcomers is to double-think before posting something. I might be unable to emphasize the point I'm making, so it's understandable why you can't draw any conclusion on me.
Yet, if you wanted to look at my conclusion, you can find it with the help of this quote:
Good idea, but problem is, we don't have that much time to do some helping here and there.
Some oldfags that are here were only looking for some fun, and doing things like that is a no-no.
And do you think they would change immediately? There's only 25% who changed immediately, and 50% who progress slowly. The other 25% is hopeless case.
Although I agree with your point, it's just looked like...too hard, or too much hassle to do. It's not hopeless though.
Which is why, my conclusion is that people have their own things at their hand, and doing things like helping the newbs aren't a good solution. So I believe in Scarecrow's response of banning them on spot, especially if they're disturbing other members.
The only thing I wanted to make proposition is the 1-day rule laxness.
But if I'm wrong, and you wanted to explain, can we take it to the PMs? We can debate it much more easily there. And about my "point-less posts", I guess it was my mistake, and so I hope you can forgive me about those things. I just wanted people to get along together.
