I tried Pencil in a school project, it didn't help me much. But it could help you, there's also a whole bunch of others.

Oh yeah. It would be, like, a good software if you have a tablet. Sorry.

Edit: There's more free animating software. There's Vectorian Giotto, CreaToon, and Synfig. But Vectorian and Synfig are too laggy for my computer. ESPECIALLY VECTORIAN.

I'm not sure about CreaToon though.

That's a bit too extreme of a difference. However I can't provide an example of my own, but it would be more hateful yet less trolly.
