I just found out I hate civilizations games.
And I am a huge strategy game fan, but this game is fucking retarded.

Seems like no matter what I do nothing works out, there's always some shit going wrong. More often than not I find myself frustrated defending myself from 3 dick heads attacking me along with barbarians. I spend the majority of the time wondering, when does the fun start. Where is the excitement?
I understand it's a simulator but c'mon, it's gameplay and user interface is about as friendly as a bipolar crocodile. I am a firm believer that games don't have to be dumbed down for it to be a good game, however, one of my criteria is that if one were to pick up the game and start playing it completely ignoring any of the tutorials that you should be able to figure out the basics within a reasonable matter of time based purely on looking on the interface and playing with the controls.
And for a simulator the shits mad unrealistic, since when does it take 40 years for my cavalry to reach another country that's right next to me? Bullshit. And the resource requirements are pretty impossible. If you have one resource you will likely be missing others and there's no way to guarantee any resource is going to be anywhere near you at all. Not to mention the game plays like you need every resource.

I'm sure someone is into this game, but I'd rather slam my dick in a car door than subject myself to that shit again.

Edit: OOOhhh and another thing, I should feel a lot more satisfied when I crush my foes, destroy their cities and fend off three opposing forces. Instead I just feel frustrated because the game doesn't really reward for playing it.

Edit2: Then again I could see someone arguing that it's not really designed to be riveting, that it's designed to be fun for a certain demographic of people that would find amusement in chess and the like. Which I do find a lot of amusement in the immortal game of chess, but here's the thing, I grew up broke. To me video games are supposed to be fun and exciting, because they're a luxury, with our technology there's no excuse as to why it shouldn't be. If I wanted to stimulate my mind or just waste some time I would just play some fuckin chess, or better yet throw cards into a hat or any of the shit I used to do to pass time growing up.

aaand here's the bullshit part of this whole thing. Oxob punished Jutsu for double posting without correcting the problem in the process. He left the posts there, and so did you, neither of you made any effort to fix the problem that apparently justifies that infraction. I had to do it myself. Apparently oxob didn't know what the real problem was (not surprising, after nearly 7 years I've never seen someone relate double posting to the database before), otherwise he would've merged the posts as well. Since he didn't, he was just blindly using moderation tools without making any real attempt to fix anything, which is what those tools are supposed to be used for.

wait, i never even saw the posts ya'll niggers talkin about, but they didn't even fix it? fucking wow..

I don't really want to be one of your mods if you're going to defend oxob's actions while condemning Jutsu's. It shows a complete lack of empathy toward the most dedicated members of this community, and if that's how we're supposed to run things around here I'd rather not be a part of it.

If you some how come to the conclusion that me explaining why someone got an infraction and them freaking out over it on a clearly simple stated rule as 'condemning' them. He got an infraction for breaking a rule. Oxob gave him the infraction, I had no clue about the actual event itself other than I just know he got an infraction for double posting. Oxob should have merged the posts. If you think I lack empathy for dedicated users than you clearly haven't been around to see anything that I've done or hell, all the time I spent responding to the user specifically in explaining why he got the infraction.

Granted that you completely freaked out yourself and began to lash out at me, when I never lashed out at the user at all. I did nothing but reason and back up our rules. If you don't want to be a mod, that's fine with me.

inb4 omg u guys are autistic whats the big deal. excuse me for caring about how we run this place and how it affects you guys, go fuck yourself if you think that's a problem.

And this kind of immaturity in handling the situation makes me doubt if you do care about how the forum is ran.

(I could aware I post a huge apost about this.... Oh well

I'm agree with stone, a few months back when I was a noob in SP forums I bumped a thread and got an infraction, my first impression was that it was unfair because I didn't know about this, then; JUST then I read the forums rules, and noticed that it was completely my fault, and MAYBE I should got just a warning instead of an infraction, but I broke a "little" rule, and I must get an infraction for it, now.... the thing is way different if we're talking about a member with what.. Over 9 thousand posts? I think it's reaaalllyyy hard that someone with years in the forum didn't know about this rule, and considering that he double posted, knowing that he must not do it, IT is an, it doesn't matter if it's "little" rule, it still against a bunch of rules that everyone here (wants to or not) must obey.

wow I give an infraction and this is what happens.

The thing about infractions is, the infraction itself IS a warning. I didnt ban him for making a doublepost. I gave him an infraction. It wouldnt make sence to give someone a warning before giving someone a warning right? And an infraction for a doublepost is the smalest infraction you can get in this forum. I dont see whats the big deal.

Holy shit guys, it was a 1 point infraction. That's so not worth the pages of argument that have went on because of it. By the time Jutsu even visits this forum again his infraction will be long-expired. Maybe a discussion on how to make our mods hand out infractions more consistently would be worth doing if the problem was actually noticeable, but it's not. Jutsu isn't going to rack up infraction points and eventually get an unfair ban, and neither is everyone else because of how rare this inconsistency is.
I think this argument isn't worth continuing at all.

edit: Ninja'd by Oxob.
