Idea for Empowering a unit into a Champion.

My idea for unit champions is, in addition to giving them extra stats, also give them an ability that empowers all units of the same type. For example:

Spearton (Click to Show)

Swordwrath (Click to Show)

Archidon (Click to Show)


or something like that.

Well these are my ideas, I don't know how to do that spoiler thing since I'm new so I'll keep it short.

Archidon: Has 3 bars of health, shoots arrows 1.5 times faster.

Focus, further increased fire rate and range of arrows, requires research (cooldown 20 secs)
Increased fire arrows, shoot fire arrows for 5 seconds (cooldown 25 secs)

Swordwrath: Armoured with 4 bars of health, deals +25% damage with dual blades.

Mastered rage, does a more effective rage with less health reduction
and 25% increased speed and attack rate increase compared to standard rage, requires research
Adrenaline, increased damage and speed as health gets lower,

I honestly think we're all going waaaay overboard with the ideas. Tone it down and start from the feasible, and let's establish an idea of what this "champion" idea would involve in the first place.

i think that a extra ability and stat boost would do nicely and it would be activated by a global spell

I assume that the power up cost gold/mana so to give the lower tier troops a chance make them cheaper then a higher tier troop.
Example a 100g100m buff for spear and a 700g300m to giant.

Been out of the game long enough for me to have lost price judgement on the game

I think that's reasonable, but I think I prefer global spells not being in the game. The idea of empowering a unit seems alright.

Exactly. What it looks like it's supposed to be is an iteration of controlling units in sw1. CJ suggested not simple buffs or radical changes, but an emphasis on the units function. So maybe an upgraded spear that blocks for 90% and it is like a small wall.
Or Albows that pierce through units.
Or chaos giants with a single-target kill ablity.
Or Medusa with insane melee damage for camping in her poison puddles. Plus just a liiitle bit more range on petrify.
Or Marrowkai that can raise 2 melee only deads from units still in their death animations.
Or an archer that affects nearby archer's aim. For that 45° angle volley I love. (No fire arrows)
Or a sword that gets armor and a aoe Rage that doesn't damage him, but of course still damages the others.
Or a tree that actually has a melee attack, and idk, scorplings regen health on kills or something?
Or a fire that, uh burns on contact? Resistant to physical damage?
Or a water with an aoe freeze that is like a small wall.
Or mages that summon.
Or a poison bomber.
Or a juggerknight that instead of charging does a jump attack. It also has a shield bash ability.
Or a dead that has a second wind, and attacks for splash damage. (The splash doesn't poison, only the initial hit.)

Simple things. Perhaps to fill the gap, low-tier champs could involve groups. It's interesting to think that this could be just one of many global spells. I gladly give you my money for this service

You know one thing we should cover? What will the unit champion look like? Will it just look bigger than other units or have accessories of its own?

It's gonna have a big yellow star and glowing its aura just like SW1 I think.

It's going to have a giant arrow pointing at it, and above the arrow will be in big letters that take up the entire top of the screen "CHAMPION"

TBH, I didnt like the music of the song but the lyrics with the song will just look too odd, bcz they are too high and the music is mostly nothing, if tou really wanna implement is than implementing it on the victory screen would be just okay but really I would not like that
