I made a poll like this before but it had a whole boatload of choices. Now I've just restricted it to the two most popular answers. Let's find out once and for all who is better.

Pirates "It's a style of life"

A pirate's life is too unhygienic.

Being a pirate means I have to lose a leg and an eye. I'd prefer to not lose them.

To be fair, membership gives you a life time supply of booze and a talking parrot.

Pirates where also much more widespread and played significant parts of history. They have names we still know today as well, Blackbeard, Redbeard, Barbosa. The legend of ninjas may be undeniably cool, but if you want to talk about impact don't kid yourselves.

Usually on an face to face fight, the ninja wouldn't have any problems dealing with these weak pirates. Let's be realistic, ninjas are tought lots of martial arts and survivability while the pirates are.. well.. normal humans, usually with handicap (lost arm/leg/eye/ all of these). So if we are talking for 'better' as who will win in a fight, then 1 ninja would be able to deal with 5 pirates easily.
