Select quasi-mods who look through ideas and suggestions and find ways to make the community more engaging. They look through community collaborations, ideas, potential sponsor-material animations and try to weed good content out. Possibly an entire subsection dedicated to competitions, OFFICIAL collabs and more. They don't all need massive cash prizes or 4 minute long animations. Just something to engage animators.
I think this is actually a really good idea. This way people would have a much easier way to get in contact with mods and stuff. At the moment there seems to be a large gap between the leaders and well known people, and all the other people around. They could be a way of communication between the lower levels and the higher levels. "The representatives of the people".

View Profile in light of the RIDICULOUS amount of spam at the moment, it'd be nice to be able to hide threads by users on your ignore list

I'm confused about this, because as far as I'm concerned no one has really suggested anything to us directly. I could just be forgetting, but very few people in general actually directly contact and make an appeal of how moderation is dealt with.
I prefer Stickpage to Hyun's Dojo
Okay, I didn't expect that to be honest lol

View Profile Not much you can do about this, but sponsorship. It's a fucking abysmal process at the moment. I prefer Stickpage to Hyun's Dojo or any other site really and its disheartening to not be able to get content sponsored or be able to talk with the people who run it (aside from stone). Sponsorship and just the community in general.
Yep, we are well aware of this and have discussed ways to improve and expedite the process.
I feel like there's a big disconnect from the community and the ones who have power to make great things happen. I've heard a lot of good ideas from a lot of people but it's just impossible to get anything run through the higher ups. What I'd suggest is community straining.

I'll keep this in mind because it's not a bad idea. We have also been looking at restructuring the roles we take on as site staff specifically so that we can keep the community engaged with things like this. Although since I am now tasked with the SP redesign I am also now the one who has the power to make these great things happen, which is specifically why I made this thread. Everything in here will be taken into account for the redesign, and since the redesign is intended to reinvigorate the community it makes sense that I get this feedback. So here's your chance!

View Profile Infractions should be reset after a certian period of time. I made some mistakes and broke some rules about a year ago but now I have learnt the rules and have not been infracted for a couple of months it worries me that I could douple post or go off topic and get banned I asked a mod that I will not name how many infractions it would take before I get banned he/she replied that they could not say because it would incourage teasing off the rules i then asked how many infractions it takes to get banned in total and I got same response.
Also I feel that on the stickempires section that moderators should be non players of stick empires or players with no clan history. It worries me that with the clans so competative (it's often go nasty too) that mods would ban members because they hate a rival clan. Or be hard on opposing clans and soft on their own clan. Ie I will pretend I missed that double post or 1 word answer because their in my clan. But that guy from a rival clan went off topic i will infract him. Mods should have no clan background.

I don't know about _Ai_, but I'm a mod of the SE section and I am both a non-player and a person with no background in clans. If you feel like you're being unjustifiably infracted, you can just contact me or _Ai_ about it.

View Profile Oh I thought he meant in-game mods of some sort. I'm sure there are plenty of kids who think Stick Empire clan rivarlies are a big deal but I can guarantee you none of the forum mods give a shit lol

To be honest, I didn't really understand this post. But if your issue is with moderators in a forum outside of the stickpage domain, then that's out of our jurisdiction.
If you're referring to the SE forums located here, then I've already told you that I've never been a part of any clan and am bias-free in that regard, so I'm not sure exactly what we're discussing.

View Profile Their are a couple more things Id like to get off my chest
1. If and when appropriate the community should have a say in who should be a moderator so if theit are multiple candidates with equal chances of being a mod for all of them theit could be a election. I belive that a mod that is chosen by the community would be well respected so people would be more likely to follow the rules and make their job easier. People would be more likely to approach mods with problems. And the mod would be more likely to moderate. Probably as they will feel a sence of gradititude to the community as the community is trusting them to do a job.
2. Cheif moderator or a modarator of. Moderators this persons job would be to make sure all the mods are accountable and are doing their job and are not abusring the communities trust. I'd understand this is done collectivly allready but it should be somebody's role and rogue moderators would be spotted and dealt with more quickly. This person would have no other modarateing powers apart from the ablity to remove the status of moderator. Thou I guess they could be a normal mod too. This person would have to have access to PMS sent and Recived as PMs are where the 'offences' are commited.
3. Moderators that abuse the communities trust or use their powers to do bad. Should be permanently bad from SE. a abusring you role as a mod to do bad is the ultimate crime in my mind on these forums. If mods are threatening abusring wrongly banning people when it's obvious that their innocent is the ultimate crime and it is wrong they get away it with the light punishment of the loss of modarateing powers. If I went round abuseing people i would get banned preety quick it is outrageous that Toxic Modarators have got away with no punishment. Mods that abuse power should be instantly banned IP address banned pernamantly.
Thank you for reading my comments have a nice day.

View Profile You seem to be talking about someone in particular but no one on the mod team fits your "rogue/toxic moderator" description.
And Jeff is the one who keeps us in check beyond us collectively making decisions, there is no need for another such person. As for electing mods, I don't think that's necessary either, since the community doesn't know how the inner workings of moderation works and would probably just vote in the most popular/well liked person and not necessarily the best person for the job.

View Profile Thank you Drone I understand. Im not saying anyone is toxic here nor I am targeting anyone in particler im saying that in the future and now mods should be probably watched which they are. Im not saying mods should be voted in all the time. Some mods have been marmite sometimes and the community should have a say if a mod is being unfair that's democratic after all. All im saying is the community should have a say about mods but it sounds like they do thank you for answering my questions.

View Profile I found the rules page really hard to find.
However what I did find really nice about this site is how well it loads on slow internet. I really hope the fast page loading can be kept.
