A brief demo of my talents...

I can't get the swf or flv things to work, so I go with a YouTube url.
Hope you guys enjoy. Visit the Animation Nest to see more info on this video, including the names of the characters I used in it.

Man...I'm so new at this! Can anyone give me tips as to where this type of thing belongs? There are links in the animations for flash, pivot, and easytoon, but none for this type. This started as gif images, then moved to wmv from windows movie maker where I put it together, and then to mp4 for my computer to play it properly because of a windows media player glitch, and now it's here, as a shared YouTube URL. So much work and I don't feel like anyone's appreciative since I don't have many viewers and 0 subscribers on YouTube...:(

It takes a lot of work to make these...frame by frame...like a Pivot or Macromedia Flash 8 animation.
29 frames per second. I forgot how many frames were in it because I removed the original gif images from the file I had them in.

don't get ahead of yourself! it takes a long time to start getting people to follow and appreciate your work. focus on producing quality stuff instead of worrying so much about how many people are viewing and commenting on it. you also seem to be decent at animation already, so you can probably safely make your own thread instead of posting in the beginner thread.

what program are you using to animate, anyway? the video you posted didn't look like flash work. too pixellated.

if you are using flash, you're downgrading your quality significantly by putting it into youtube format. try exporting as .swf and uploading the swf file to http://fileize.com/ instead.

The problem is, I can't animate in macromedia flash since I don't have the proper equipment. I do my animation work on my Nintendo DSi XL, then I save the animation as a selection of sequential gif images in the SD card, and THEN I transfer the images into my computer, AND THEN I put the images together in Windows Movie Maker, AND THEN I save it as a video. The reason for the black sections in the resultant video is because I save it for HD display.

wow, okay. that is dedication. if you can't get flash, and pivot doesn't suit you, why don't you try downloading easytoon instead? it's free and doesn't need much in terms of system requirements, and i think it might suit you. ogrilla has produced some great examples of what you can do with easytoon.

I think beginner should start with more interactive animation tools and must read most of the documentation.
It will boost their confidence.

Heyo Scar, good to see you again. The animation you showed is okay in some aspects but lacks the connection of movements or in short, it has the "Stop and go" movements. Another thing is you need to work on is how your movements makes sense. The teleportation move confused me a bit because it looked as though he was about to attack then just dissapeared then, attacked again. This can work but you must put enough frames or sequence it in a way where it can be understood. Other than that, you just need to practice more.

Okay, before I C&C, please never say "Too lazy to finish" ever again. It motivates your lack of passion to animate something wholeheartedly and that is something that needs to be fixed. As for your animation, well, all I can say is get back to the basics. I can see what you're trying to do but the sword movements just lack that weight in a sword. What I'm seeing is an extended arm instead of a sword(Even though a sword is an extended arm in a sense but yours lack the essence of what a sword should feel like). Well, at least you have that idea grounded down so all you have to do is go back to the very basics and master them.
