I'm also not sure why you guys think forum activity would decrease as if we'd be discussing every single forum topic in real-time to the point where we wouldn't need the threads.

I'm against this for the reasons I've posted, plain and simple.

I didn't read the previous posts but what's wrong with the IRC? And where will the chat box be situated? It better not be on the front page because I for one will not be putting up with the lag and random fleets of spam bots.

Just see if we can get Paperclip to throw in a shoutbox type thing under the forum or something..

But it would be so overfilled with pivoteers...

At least with the IRC it can be filtered to people who either get given the link (ie. we want them) or are able to find the place (ie. we won't mind them).

A Chatbox at the top of the forum is easy to code in. Give it a 150 post restriction, and maybe designate a chatbox mod. Simple.

But the forums would lag like hell.
