View Profile So you are saying that their job is to keep order, and they don't need to care about the populace to do that. What, then, decides which laws against or for certain things are appropriate?
Wait, this guy thinks the government cares.
I don't think the government doesn't care, I know it.

It is a social concept called the common good. That is what is generally used, however, it is usually replaced by whatever it is that we can all agree upon. See with marijuana laws, we are all no longer in agreement.

You are intentionally misunderstanding. You know the difference between caring about people and maintaining order. and If you are really that stupid, I am not going to bother to explain it to you.

View Profile you didn't answer my question. If it is so simplistic that even someone of average intelligence can say why they are not related, then you shouldn't have to go to much trouble to do so. What is the purpose of maintaining order in a community if you don't care about it?

They don't get paid by our affection, they don't get a wealth of gratitude and think "Oh boy, that's all I need."
They make MONEY.
Why do you so desperately want to believe that they give a FUCK?

You certainly can't say they just wind us up and let us go. If they truly didn't give a single fuck, educational systems wouldn't be in place, or we wouldn't have water supply systems. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the government either, but credit where credit is due and whatnot.

they do these things to keep things running smoothly and keep people happy, because if things aren't running smoothly and people aren't happy, people will vote for somebody else -> no more money
or, you know people, could just abolish the entire government and fix things themselves... but apparently everyone is too stupid/meek/lazy to do that

In America everyone is addicted to the society of fear. As long as we get one measly bone a day and a pat on the head we're complacent to continue grinding out the monotony of our extremely boring routine, repeated ad nauseum for a period of time longer than this run on sentence. They feed us blatant lies, promising security for those with the power to change it. When the simple fact is they can't protect us. People here don't want to believe they'll die. But we're all dying, because we feed into the perpetuation of this system, we're killing ourselves.
Edit:Of course, first world problems and all that.

Weed doesn't need to be legalized... I would still be smokin' in that abandoned building (it has walls but no windows, you enter it from the sewer)where we always do. It would still take me 5 days to "jew" the money out of ppl for pot.

View Profile One of my closest friends got really addicted to pot once. He smoked it every 3 days. He lost 5 kg. We barely got him out of that.
He said he smokes pot only when he listens to RHCP... He's the biggest fan of Peppers I've ever met.
