Ooc: well it all depends on how things go. Roth is in the same boat about keeping mick alive as veeran is. If we jump the guards and the guy doesn't hit the deck then that's his characters fault for being a dumb ass. Other than that, yes, Roth will just blast away blindly trying to kill everything inside. Surely they will panic and start firing their weapons rapidly, all we would have to do is wait until they stopped shooting or wait for the smoke to clear after a minute or two to assess the situation. I don't think cook will go super hard mode with double reinforcements right away, and while nanite did fuck up I feel like this whole scenario could serve as a warning to him and anyone else who just freelance their shit.

It would be hella crazy if Roth missed the grades completely in his intoxicated state. I'd laugh.

OOC: Should I retract Mick's actions? And am I supposed to plan with you guys as well, I mean Mick is just assuming that you're gonna kill him and doesn't know that you guys plan on extracting him. Then again, he's sat quietly while being hauled off before. So is it allowed to plan with you guys even though my character can't communicate with you?

Ooc: probably not. I feel like you're not playing in character much with the guy you made in the character sheet. Or at least trying to. You probably just have to wait and see what happens <3

I feel like Cal is getting his proper characterization, and matches what I intended for him when I designed him. At the same time, I feel more and more that he's not as suited for the "action" part of his new detective lifestyle, as he is the "sleuthing" portion. It's funnier because he's one of the more able-bodied of the group, yet he's been the most against actual violence, being a firm advocate of the "don't even know we're here" style of progressing. I do hope to have him break past this little fiasco though; he didn't directly kill anybody, he was just an unwilling participant in an event which led to two deaths. Rationalization and alcohol should help him through this.

OOC: Cook, when can we expect the next part? I'm getting super jealous seeing the Angel RP guys managing to get so many updates.

Azure, yeah if we had known about your character traits (aversion to bloodshed) during the intro round, we might have kept you out of the bloodshed. This is why we all need our characters to talk to each other about one another. Instead of that, we just told each our names and left it at that.

It feels more natural this way if you ask me, and af is almost done, like maybe less than ten posts away. I might only have one or two more to make. Overall it wasn't that bad. Poorly planned, but not that bad. I already like this one more, though.

If Roth misses I would be fine as well, I believe. Victoria's got a fast car headed her way to make her escape and she's a respectable distance away. I should be able to fit Jy into the car too, if it's a two-door.

Well, during the first chapter, nobody went into detail about themselves, especially after one member of the team (Mick) up and left. Trust still isn't that established, so revealing information about yourself isn't realistic unless you're some idealistic idiot. And during the actual planning, killing wasn't established as part of the plan; it was a last resort that was (seemingly) unlikely to occur, especially in this way (willing murder vs self defense sniping). There's a difference in the effects on the mentality of the killings.

That said, I understand where you're coming from entirely, and do hope that things work out to keep the story rolling. I wanna get into actual sleuthing, talking to others to get dirt, laying down large plans to slowly break down the inner machinations of Malkose's campaign, not because I trust our candidate entirely, but because it's better to take the lesser of two evils and to get a decent pay on the way.

Well I think the plan is to kill the handful of thugs that show up, maybe save mick, and then get the fuck out. We're going to have the jump on them, so the element of surprise is on our side, plus we have them at two different angles so they're sitting ducks more than we are. Veeran is in the building with cover and I'm in a steel dumpster with body armor and smoke grenades, should be armor be to take them out before more show up in which case yeah I'm fucked lol.

The van pulls back into the parking lot, accompanied by a half dozen other cars. The back of the van opens up, and a single man steps out. He is unarmed.

"Which one of you is Veeran?"
Veeran's grip on the phone tightened.
"Which one of you motherfuckers is Veeran?"
Silence.
"Look, I'm not fucking retarded. In fact, you're the fucking retards."
Silence
"Markose? That fucking guy?" The man laughed and slid his arms into his pockets.
"Your fucking guy told us everything, you motherfuckers. You faggots don't have leverage for shit."
Silence
"Yeah, fucking talk it out, I'll be right here. But your friend? He isn't in that fucking van, so don't go for it. Show me Adrian, and we'll bring out your friend."

Jy wasn't surprised Victoria could handle herself the way she did. He had accompanied her as to open up the security boxes for her, but she had done it all herself. He simply sat nearby as she worked furiously away. He looked over her shoulder at the security feed. "So are they coming yet?" He looked at the mass of cars that were circling Veeran. "Holy shit... are there more coming?" He asked before he pulled out his communicator. "Veeran you have a lot of company coming your way. What should me and Victoria do? Should I try calling the cops? Leave an anonymous tip about this clusterfuck?"

"Veeran, tell me the license plate number of the van that had Mick." Victoria said tersely, rapidly flipping through camera after camera to try and get an angle that could tell her which vehicle could have him. If she could just find the plate instead of looking for him physically, they would have a target at least. "Calling the police may be a good distraction, Jy." She turned around enough to offer a glimpse of an approving nod. "But if they have helicopters and decide to chase us... We will have a very hard time getting away."

In the frantic rush of her mind, the girl just couldn't help but wonder. "Veeran... If they had all they needed to know from that scum, why would they tell us? We wanted him back so they wouldn't question him. What would we have to gain by trading Mick for Adrian after he already spilled what he knew?" She shook her head, letting out a pained sigh. "They're either bluffing, or they don't care if Adrian lives or dies. Maybe we should ask them."
