Sonoya, please post an example animation (and read the thread).
Thanks for the submitting hawk. I do have a few concerns though:
any collaborative piece that I'm called "MarcK" and not "Kitsune."
First off, are the rounds this year going to be exactly like the ones above, or just the same roundabout sort of thing? The reason I ask is because the projects that i do over the summer are going to be submitted to my university (its a thing where they judge whether I can be an animation student). I can't really submit something that's just "stickfigure kills all AHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAHH". Based on this (if negotiable) I'd like to request that the round themes (if not all, just ONE of them) be as general as possible while keeping the form of continuity for a collaboration. I'll work it out if you can't or don't want to change anything already prepared, it's no big deal, it's just a question of slight convenience and interest to those who would like to have some more creative room to grow their entries off of.
I think I will end up going the factory route. Can I have a character like the factory character and add a little detail (like texture or something) and shading OVER ALL to the simple humanoid shape? I'm just confused at where "stickfigure" ends and "fullbody" begins dealing with hybrids like this. It's your call of course.
Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions Hawk.
easily pump out a satisfactory 20 second stick animation in a week, not to mention in a month.
edit: Oh and I forgot to mention that I have some really excellent tracks that can work as background music for collabs. When you're piecing things together please drop a pm by if you'd like me to share them. They're mostly trance, electronic something like this:

Something like this could be really flexible for working with timing and matching. It's also really awesome. Death metal and gay metal and "cut my life into pieces this is my last resort" is really gay and overused in stick animations.
edit2: actually this song would be a better example:

Name changed. Kept "Kitsune" in brackets so I don't make any confusion.
Those are just examples there. Yes, the themes will be the same... template so to say. As you can see, the first round style gives a lot of details and a simple plot. The second round style allows you to be creative by only giving a specific location.
Yes, absolutely. The Factory character was good. Don't overdo the details though. I suggest you don't add clothing, cause that would make it FullBody, in my opinion.
As a professional, you will have to animate an entry of minimum 30 seconds.
The tracks sound nice. I may use them. We'll see. :)
I don't know yet. We've tried to make a well-structured basis for judging in 2008 but it only made judging harder. I prefer to leave it to the judges to build their own basis. Actually, I think that's
an important ability a judge must have.
@ Doc : I sure hope so.
@ Yummerz : Yes, those three were the collabs of the three rounds of last year's TLTFT V.2, which is named StickPage Tournament this year.
@ Ruin : Anyone can enter, we've got three separate categories. I suppose in your case it's different software, though. Am I right?
Guys, you need to understand something. I'll be posting about once a day, to update the entrants list and answer questions. I won't be posting anything before I update the entrants list. That would create confusion and people would think I forgot to enter them. So it's one post per day. If you've got something emergent to ask, Private Message me. NOTE : Emergent is something that MUST be answered within hours, not your whining about my slow replies. I'm just sayin'. I've had some "fanmail" lately...
Sorry I had to bold it, it's important for you. =]
New Entrants will be up in a bit.
