But hey, we finally have allies that give some of the more powerful abilities like Double Strike and Indestructible.
The neatest thing about this set is the exile-matters mechanic, I guess Warden of the Beyond was just foreshadowing. Tis a shame Wizards is just playing safe with these mechanics, they got too scared by Mirrodin or something. There were a lot of opportunities back in Theros for some sweet enchantment-matters cards but I guess they're scared.

Quote from GuardianTempestOther people seem to have negative reception to it, although they seem to keep forgetting that there's the next two sets that will complement it.
You seem to forget their announcement that all blocks after Magic Origins will only have 2 sets.
BFZ will only have Battle for Zendikar and Oath of the Gatewatch.
The negative reception will vary since BFZ does not cater to all colors equally. Some have it, some don't. I don't dislike going back to old planes since RTR was good, and in some way we returned to Phyrexia in Mirrodin Besieged.

That's unfortunate, I guess Wizards are stretching those ideas over the long run.

Business-wise, its good.

EDIT: bumperino! It has however come to my attention that this is being discussed outside of this thread. With that In mind I'd like to revive it!
Guys! I play MTG as well. I've been looking to nerd out with peeps on this for awhile now. I play with physical cards though. I'd love to have a chat about some MTG stuff if anyone is interested.
I currently have 2;
Atarka Red ft. Nissa
Mono Bludrazi
both for standard and lik 85% of bogles deck completed for modern.

I don't play standard anymore since Phyrexia and exclusively play modern and casual.
Modern Boggle deck? Is that GW by any chance with Daybreak Coronet?

Have you seen the new Sorin and Nahiri?
The Sorin +1 is just devastating. I want to try out a BW Eldrazi deck just because of it.

Have you even seen the new Jace? Sweet tits of a single mother dragonite that thing is monstrous.

The new Jace is the epitome of Blue. He has Preordain as a +1 and Unsummon. If he pops the ultimate, damn, it gets shitty. If you have Curse of Exhaustion on the side, you've locked them down for good.

Yeah GW with daybreak. Exaaactly.
I also had a question, with these Bluedrazi decks in standard- why do they run shivan reef / yavimaya coast pain lands when they dont require the other colors they provide? Why not just run all islands?

I'm still fairly new.

Its because they double as specific colorless mana providers that Dimensional Infiltrator, Matter Reshaper, Thought-Knot, Spatial Contortion and Reality Smasher need without increasing the amount of Wastes in the deck while keeping the amount of blue mana providers steady. The Shivan Reef/Yavimaya coast can be treated like colorless/blue dual lands in this purpose.

Finally a bump to yee olde magick.
My past posts expressed my opinion of the previous sets, but with high hopes I'm off to take a gander at the new cards.

You should, Vorpal. Lots of new interesting cards have appeared in the Return to Zendikar and Return of Innistrad sets. :D

=3 looking through all the new stuff now, but I'll probably still be a modern player "A little more open ended than standard."
We should also have someone with powers update the download link on the first page with this. https://cockatrice.github.io/
