Yes, it does. You don't think it makes any sense because you don't understand it. Evolution occurs on a time scale the human mind is literally incapable of conceptualizing -- a year seems like a long time, right? Now think about how long 3,500,000,000 years is.

You can't think about that amount of time in any meaningful way. It's just a long fucking time, enough time for hundreds of millions of generations of simple lifeforms to mutate and evolve into modern life.


Evolution has mountains of evidence and experimental data to confirm it, it's one of the most widely researched, verified and accepted theories that exist today.


And for those of you religious folk who think evolution is incompatible with your beliefs, here's a letter signed and supported by over 13,500 religious officials:

If you want to claim evolution is bullshit because of your religion, either start doing some research on it, or at least acknowledge that you have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

I think all this confusion arises from people not actually knowing what "evolution" is in Biology, and also not knowing what the word "Theory" means in scientific terms. I don't believe there is a single person who understands what both of those things are and also honestly believes that evolution as a process is a myth.

Despite what Zed said before, evolution as a process is an undeniable fact. The theory is the explanation of how it happens.

The evidence that supports it is so extensive that colloquially it's perfectly acceptable to call it a fact, even if the fossil record ceased to exist entirely. I'm amazed at how quickly people are capable of dismissing its validity.
